"Knock", is a new film written by
Kyle Marrotte, based on the short 17-word story of the same name
by Fredric Brown. The film is directed by Nick Lavigne and co-directed
by Kyle Marrotte. Jake Buck plays the only character
in the film. This is the first film Precedent Cinema has
made using the Sony HDR-FX1, high definition camera.
Knock was filmed in the 16x9 aspect ratio. The
cameras’ built in microphone was, once again used to captured
the audio. The HDR-FX1 has rather loud mechanics, which were
picked up on the audio track. I had to use audio tools to fix
the mechanical noise problems. This is the first time I didn’t
use Adobe Audition to fix audio. For this film I used Apple's
Soundtrack Pro software. I feel that this software wasn’t
as good as Adobe Audition.
